Councilor Glenn J. Clarke

 

Glenn was born and raised in Victoria.  He was educated at Victoria U.C. School and Beaconsfield High School and then graduated from the College of Trade and Technology with Interprovincial Certification as a heavy equipment technician.  He has many years of community involvement including 17 years on town council (9 as mayor), 30 years in the Victoria Lions Club and 20 years in the Victoria Volunteer Fire Department.  In addition, he was chair of the CBN Joint Mayors Association. In 1998 he was named Victoria Citizen of the Year. 

Glenn has approximately 40 years working as a Heavy Equipment Technician as well as sales/ product support representative where he gained recognition  for achieving the top 25% product support representatives in North America (which included sales, product knowledge, customer satisfaction, and negotiating skills) leading to Master status with Caterpillar.

Later in his career, Glenn was employed in the position of executive assistant to a Federal Cabinet Minister and was also appointed Chairperson of the EI Appeal Board.

Glenn has been married to Joan for 45 years and has two grown children and four grandchildren.
